Kyveli Lignou-Tsamantani is an art historian, working between York and Athens. Currently, she is completing her PhD in the History of Art Department, University of York. Her research interests include visual ethics, politics of images, issues of visibility and spectatorship of violence in contemporary art and photography. She has worked in a curatorial capacity on exhibitions and public programmes in Greece and the United Kingdom. In summer 2018, she co-curated the exhibition Refuse/Refuge at the York Art Gallery (for more info see: https://www.refuserefugeproject.co.uk).
